In August of this year, FamilySearch announced its next major U.S.
community project-U.S. Immigration and Naturalization. The project will
create an extensive, free, online collection of U.S. passenger lists,
border crossing records, naturalization records, and more-invaluable to
genealogy researchers. The online volunteer community is two months into
the project and aiming to index 30 million records by the end of the
year. Thanks to the contributions of over 85,000 volunteers, more than
15 million records have been completed already. See what U.S.
Immigration and Naturalization projects are currently underway, or check
on their status at FamilySearch.org/immigration.
You can join the community of online indexers and arbitrators helping
to make passenger lists and naturalization records freely searchable on
familysearch.org. To get started, visit familysearch.org/immigration.
